According to media reports, Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch , said that the artist had Librium in her system when she died in July. He thinks that the powerul anti-anxiety drug caused Amy to suffer a seizure and that is why she couldn't be saved.

'What happened to Amy wasn't anything to do with drugs. Everything Amy did, she did to excess. She drank to excess and did detox to excess', Mitch Winehouse said in a recent interview.  He also spoke about the fact that the singer was trying to make things right and had started to overcome her alcohol addiction: 'the periods of abstinence were becoming longer, and the periods of drinking were becoming shorter. It was heading in the right direction.'

Amy's father admitted he was only speculating about what happened in the morning of his daughter's death and the entire family is waiting for the official results of the inquest.

Amy Winehouse's boyfriend, Reg Traviss, said that he spent a nice and quite evening with the singer watching some DVDs, two days before she died. He was always trying to find the right time to speak to her about her alcohol abuse without seeming nagging: 'She was a really clever girl. She knew what she was doing. I would sometimes choose my moments when there was something that needed to be said.'

The diva, who was struggling with drug and alcohol addiction for years, was found dead in her London home on July 23.
