Sarah Jessica Parker looks fierce on the cover of 'The Edit' March 2013 edition. The 47-year old actress and fashion icon shared her opinions on "The Carrie Diaries", her work as a producer and the influence "Sex and the City" has on how women see themselves and think about their role in society.

Sarah Jessica Parker made Carrie Bradshaw famous worldwide and it was obvious that rebooting one of the television's most iconic characters would not be easy. When asked about AnnaSophia Robb (who plays her part in "The Carrie Diaries"), Parker said: "You know, I think it’s one of those tests of your generosity, [AnnaSophia] is a lovely girl and I want her to feel good about, but it’s… odd."

The actress also talked about her work as a producer and the different kind of approach to movie-making this position provides: "Being responsible to and for other people gives me an enormous amount of pride. Taking care of people’s needs, understanding budgets and finance, being part of difficult conversations, mediating, promoting people from within and really establishing that idea and living up to it, I love it."

When it comes to "Sex and the City", Sarah Jessica Parker has influenced a whole generation of women who saw in Carrie Bradshaw a reflection of their own spirit and desires: "I think it certainly encouraged women to share more candidly. I don’t know if it empowered women. I hesitate to say whether we were the pioneers or whether we gave voice to something that was there, but I recognize there was a connection."

However, after spending 10 years working 18 hours a day in high heels, Sarah Jessica Parker certainly feels the consequences of portraying fashionista Carrie Bradshaw: "I went to a foot doctor and he said, ‘Your foot does things it shouldn’t be able to do. That bone there … you’ve created that bone. It doesn’t belong there." In order to recover the health of her feet, the actress has reportedly cut back on how often she wears high heels. Sarah Jessica Parker says that she only wears uncomfortable shoes on special occasions and events.
